Blues Rock Review September Album Picks

Looking for some great new music? Blues Rock Review is here to help with our picks of releases for the month of September. It’s been a great summer in the world of blues rock and September will be no different. Here are some great albums worth checking out this month.

Derek Sherinian: Oceana, 9/5/11

– Derek Sherinian is known as a great keyboardist, but this album definitely features some great guitar playing with guest appearances from Joe Bonamassa and Steve Lukather to name a few. Sherinian keeps the momentum going from Black Country Communion with a solid solo release.

Leslie West: Unusual Suspects, 9/19/11

– Leslie West, known as the founding member of Mountain, is a guitar legend and will be releasing his first solo album since 2006. West brings the big guns out for Unusual Suspects with appearances from Slash, Joe Bonamassa, Billy Gibbons, Steve Lukather, and Zakk Wylde in a fine collection of blues rock.

Hart/Bonamassa: Don’t Explain, 9/27/11

– Joe Bonamassa is back for his third studio album of the year. This time the blues rock titan teams with singer/songwriter Beth Hart for a collection of soul covers. Combine Bonamassa’s exquisite playing with Hart’s powerful vocals and you get an album that could take Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart to the mainstream.

Pete Francis

Pete Francis is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Blues Rock Review. Pete founded Blues Rock Review in 2010 because he felt there was a major void in how the blues rock genre was covered. Pete is the host of Blues Rock Weekly and a co-host on the Blues Rock Show.
