Evan Watson: A Town Called Blue Review

A Town Called Blue is the debut album from Evan Watson and his band The Headless Horseman. Watson is a rare breed mixing blues, rock, soul, folk, and pop all into one package. He and the Headless Horseman do this masterfully.

One of the strong points of the album is definitely Watson’s superb playing. Some of his influences include Eric Clapton, Ben Harper, and the Allman Brothers. Watson can play all styles and the hooks are infectious. The title track “A Town Called Blue” is especially catchy. Watson’s voice also stands out quite a bit. It’s very soulful and has a raspy quality similar to Eddie Vedder.

The sky is the limit, as Watson’s potential is through the roof. He is a complete talent and appeals to a wide variety of listeners. Not to mention his band is spectacular. Expect to hear the name Evan Watson more in the future because he’s primed for the big time.
