Jimmie Bratcher celebrates 70 years with series of concert videos
Blues-rock gospel artist and storyteller Jimmie Bratcher, known affectionately as “The Electric Rev,” just turned 70—and he’s marking the milestone with something special. Today, he releases the live concert video, Jimmie Bratcher Live: Going to a New Level of Cool filmed with an incredible 11-piece band in front of an enthusiastic crowd at The Rock of KC.
This stunning video collection—shot and edited by acclaimed filmmaker Isaac Alongi—features Jimmie and his band delivering a night of soulful grooves and high-energy riffs. The full concert is now available to watch exclusively on YouTube. A companion live album captured by engineer Matthew Russo will be released later this year. This waterfall release spotlights ten Hollywood-caliber performance videos, each released individually in the following weeks.
What began as a bold vision—”Let’s get eleven musicians together for one perfect night and film it!”—came to life through the power of collaboration and friendship. “Halfway through, I thought, ‘What the heck was I thinking?'” Jimmie says with a laugh. “But with my band, Isaac’s incredible video work, and Matt’s pristine audio, we created something special—videos that look like a blockbuster and sound just as good.”
“I didn’t want to just celebrate turning 70—I wanted to show the world that dreaming and doing doesn’t have to stop. This concert is a celebration of life, faith, and the power of music to bring us together.” — Jimmie Bratcher
From blistering guitar solos and heartfelt storytelling to irresistible grooves, this performance captures the essence of Bratcher’s mission: show up, play loud, and love well.
This release is more than a milestone—it’s part of Bratcher’s broader mission to inspire others, especially those getting a late start in life, to keep dreaming, creating, and believing that it’s never too late to do something meaningful. Whether he’s performing in prisons, churches, or on a festival stage, Jimmie lives to bring hope through music and presence.
