Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival to stream for free
Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival will be available to watch for free online when the two-day event takes place September 26 and 27 at the Moody Center in Austin, Texas.
The festival, which began in 2004, brings together some of the world’s most celebrated guitarists for a weekend of performances and collaborations while raising funds for Crossroads Centre Antigua, the addiction treatment facility founded by Clapton.
This year’s lineup includes returning performers Joe Bonamassa, Gary Clark Jr., Billy Gibbons, Buddy Guy, Marcus King, Sonny Landreth, Taj Mahal, John Mayer, Del McCoury Band, John McLaughlin, Tedeschi Trucks Band, and Jimmie Vaughan.
Trey Anastasio, Tommy Emmanuel, and Julian Lage will make their Crossroads Guitar Festival debuts. Clapton is scheduled to perform on both nights.
Fans who cannot attend in person will be able to watch the entire event through a free global livestream at Crossroads.thenextguitar.com.
The streaming schedule is as follows:
Saturday, September 26: 5:30 PM CDT
Sunday, September 27: 4:00 PM CDT
The broadcasts will also be available for replay for a limited time following the festival.
Viewers can register for free to access additional features through The Next Guitar Media Player, including four different streaming feeds and bonus content.
One of those feeds, the Guitar Stream, will provide close-up views of the musicians’ pedalboards, fretboards, and picking techniques, giving guitar enthusiasts a closer look at the performances.
