Anthony Gomes talks 2024 album, modern blues rock, shares take on AI
Anthony Gomes’ career has continued to rise in recent years. Gomes’ most recent album, High Voltage Blues, went #1 on the Billboard Blues chart. Not only that, it’s remained on the chart for 48 weeks.
On January 5th, Gomes will release a remixed and remastered version of Peace, Love, and Loud Guitars, which was voted Blues Rock Review’s #1 album of 2018. The album was remixed by Chris Collier, who also mixed and mastered High Voltage Blues.
About the production, Gomes says, “It’s a lot more present, a little bit more rock edged, and we had a lot of people who have been turned on to the band by High Voltage Blues.”
That’s not the only release fans should expect out of Gomes in 2024. Blues Rock Review sat down with Anthony at a recent sold out show in Kansas City and asked whether a new studio album would happen in 2024. Gomes said, “Yes, absolutely. It’s going to be called Praise The Loud.” Gomes added, “We have 15 songs completed that are just ready to be mixed.”
During the interview, Gomes also discussed a possible live album, his thoughts on the modern blues rock scene, artificial intelligence in music, potential AI usage of his likeness, and who he’d like to share a double bill with.

AG is in my book, the GOAT of blues rockers. Great to see his star shining after so many years of hard graft and tenacity. A finger up to the blues police. Go AG!
I’ve been a fan of Anthony Gomes for almost 20 years. It’s exciting to see AG soar to new levels of exposure and captivate new (and old) fans all across the genre!
