The Damn Truth unveil “Be Somebody” video
Montreal rock band The Damn Truth has released a new single, “Be Somebody”, via Spectra Musique. The track is accompanied by an official music video available on YouTube and coincides with the group’s upcoming UK tour in November, which will feature Nashville-based Southern blues rockers Parker Barrow as special guests.
The tour begins November 12 at the Norwich Waterfront Studio, with tickets available through The Gig Cartel.
“Be Somebody” appears on the band’s latest self-titled album, The Damn Truth, produced by Grammy Award winner Bob Rock, who previously worked with the band on their 2021 release Now or Nowhere. Guitarist Tom Shemer described the new single as both the first song written and the last one recorded for the project. “When the final mix came through the speakers, our producer Bob Rock leaned back and said, ‘F***, this is good!’” Shemer recalled. “Listening to that mix, knowing the record was done, I felt this wave of pride and nostalgia hit me. Be Somebody is the first track on our album, but it’s really a reflection of who we are, and what we became when we made this record.”
The Damn Truth, comprised of Lee-la Baum (vocals, guitar), Tom Shemer (lead guitar), PY Letellier (bass), and Dave Traina (drums), has built a reputation through extensive touring and performances at UK festivals such as Steelhouse, Winterstorm, and Planet Rockstock. Their latest album continues their collaboration with Rock and includes tracks like “The Willow,” “Better This Way,” “The Dying Dove,” “If Don’t Make It Home,” and “All Night Long.”
