Premiere: Dean Zucchero – “Shine” featuring Albert Castiglia

In a Blues Rock Review exclusive premiere watch the music video for Dean Zucchero’s “Shine” featuring Albert Castiglia. The song is from Zucchero’s upcoming album, Song For The Sinners, out February 21, 2025 on Pugnacious Records.

Zucchero said, “With “Shine” I was striving to bridge the stylistic gaps between early 70s blues, rock and country, blending the sounds of acts like The Allman Brothers, Linda Ronstadt, The Band and Little Feat.”

Dean adds, “Featuring Albert Castiglia on the song, I felt I could achieve this goal with his powerful vocal tone and anthemic blues-rocking guitar aesthetic.  Lyrically, it’s a classic love affair between a woman and a man—but with a twist. Stereotypical roles of “Love” are reversed, as the woman is merely looking for a little side action, but her quixotic lover is searching for a deeper spiritual meaning.”

Zucchero concludes, “Mutual emotional ground is briefly met, but ultimately here commonality is absent, even insignificant in this new age of sexual revolution, and old habits die hard.”

Song For The Sinners features 12 tracks and was produced, written, and arranged by Zucchero.
