Dan Patlansky releases title track from upcoming album
Friday, 12 January sees the release of a brand new single from DAN PATLANSKY, entitled MOVIN’ ON. MOVIN’ ON is the title track from DAN’s brand new album – his 11th studio offering – set for release on 1 March 2024.
With a career spanning over a decade, DAN PATLANSKY has not only been hailed as a global blues icon but has also cemented his reputation as one of the leading storytellers of his generation in the Blues genre, garnering recognition worldwide. MOVIN’ ON – the album – comes after the release of his previous album, Shelter of Bones in 2022, which was voted #2 Best Blues Rock Album of 2022 by Blues Rock Review USA. Voted the #4 Best Guitarist in the world, DAN – alongside Joe Bonamassa – remains the only artist in the world with two worldwide #1, as well as two worldwide #2, Best Blues Rock Albums to his name, as voted by Blues Rock Review USA.
MOVIN’ ON – the single, was one of the first songs written for the new album, and set the tone for the rest of the music. The general idea for the single was written by DAN around mid-2022, but the song as a whole was finished in January 2023.
“I chose MOVIN’ ON as a single, because it is the title track from my new album and it has always received the best reaction from audiences ever since I have started performing it.” says DAN.
MOVIN’ ON as a song was inspired by a phrase DAN’s father used to tell him whenever times were hard: “Keep movin’ on, son.” As a result, it is a phrase he has thought of almost daily since he was a kid.
For the song, DAN wanted to keep things as natural as possible with very little editing and post-production done; he wanted it to sound as close to a live performance as possible.
The result: A single rooted in the Blues with old school Country elements throughout.

I went to watch Dan for is opening show at The Deaf Institute, Manchester.
He is a incredible talent. It was a a joy to watch and listen to his mesmerising skills on guitar.
I would think that his new album is his best yet. Surely No1 in the Blues album of the year for 2024.
If you get to see this truly great talent live or have not seen Dan perform. You need to treat yourself. You will not be disappointed.
Well done Dan to you and your brilliant band…
