ZZ Top’s Dusty Hill dead at 72

ZZ Top bassist Dusty Hill has died at 72. Hill passed away in his sleep.

The band released a statement on Wednesday saying, “We are saddened by the news today that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston, TX. We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature and enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to the ‘Top’. We will forever be connected to that “Blues Shuffle in C.”

You will be missed greatly, amigo.

Frank & Billy”

I’ll admit, ZZ’s output since Elinator, has been sketchy at best, but they have been a constant in my life since Fandango. Their early albums grace my turntable on a regular basis and nuggets from later offerings fill my playlist. I Gotsta Get Paid is as awesome a tune as any of their hits.
The ZZ lineup has remained unchanged since the ‘First Album’ and they’ll never be the same without Joeseph Michael Hill.
    RIP Dusty 💔🙏
