Eddie 9V reveals “Whole Lot Coming For You,” produced by Dan Auerbach

Atlanta guitarist, singer and songwriter Eddie 9V has released “Whole Lot Coming For You,” the latest single from his forthcoming album, Down Here, due November 6 via Easy Eye Sound.

The album marks Eddie 9V’s debut with Easy Eye Sound and was produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys. Recorded at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound Studio in Nashville, Down Here brings together elements of Southern soul, blues and rock and roll.

“Whole Lot Coming For You” puts the focus on Eddie 9V’s guitar playing with a hard-driving groove and a loose, energetic performance.

“Whole Lot Coming For You’ was one of my favorites to cut,” says Eddie 9V. “It was one of the last tunes we recorded, and it was nice to just rip Freddie King style blues to just get the juices out. At the end of the day everybody just likes to turn up their guitars and get a jam going.”

The new song follows “Blowin’ Up,” the first single released from Down Here. The track debuted on SiriusXM’s The Spectrum on July 14 and was later named a July 2026 Editors’ Pick by Guitar World and a Track of the Week by Classic Rock.

Down Here grew out of a series of writing sessions led by Auerbach, giving Eddie 9V an opportunity to work through a different creative process after years of writing and producing his own material.

The sessions included contributions from guitarist Marcus King as well as songwriters Pat McLaughlin, whose credits include Bonnie Raitt, John Prine and Tanya Tucker, and Daniel Tashian, who has worked with Kacey Musgraves, Lee Ann Womack and Josh Turner.

“I hope when people hear this record they feel the soul of it,” says Eddie 9V. “I want them to feel like they’re sitting in the studio with us as we’re making music.”

Eddie 9V began playing guitar at six and initially explored metal and indie rock before discovering the blues. A performance by Howlin’ Wolf at the 1966 Newport Folk Festival helped steer him toward the genre that would ultimately become the foundation of his career.

He developed his live sound playing clubs around Atlanta, where he regularly performed four-and-a-half-hour nights and sometimes played for tips. By age 17, Eddie 9V was touring outside Georgia.

In 2019, he wrote, produced and released his debut album, Left My Soul In Memphis. Since then, he has continued to build his audience through touring and subsequent releases.

For Down Here, working with Auerbach and a larger group of collaborators represented a change from Eddie 9V’s previous approach to making records.

“Making this record has taught me how to put my guard down and just have fun rather than worrying about things,” Eddie 9V says. “I think that’s what you can feel on the record, a sense of freedom.”
