Ghost Hounds announce “Justified”
Ghost Hounds have announced their new album, Justified, will be released on August 21, 2026, via Maple House Records. Along with the announcement, the band has released the new single “Sinner’s Prayer.”
“Sinner’s Prayer” is a roots-rock track featuring fiddle, soaring guitar work and lead vocals from SAVNT. The song explores themes of sin and redemption. A live performance of the song recorded at Sagebrush during SXSW has also been released.
“While someone could see the title of this song and think the meaning is self-explanatory, I believe the reason why it resonates and hits so close to home for people is because we have all experienced in our own way a deep desire for understanding and redemption,” said SAVNT. Adding, “To be seen beyond our faults and seek the reassurance that there is something on the other side of the hardship. Performing this song creates an opportunity for both me and the audience to experience a cathartic release of those burdens.”
Justified features 11 tracks, including the previously released title track “Justified,” along with originals such as “Chasing Yesterday,” “Something Wicked,” “Here No More,” “War Inside,” and “Pale Horse.” The album also includes covers of The Rolling Stones’ “Gimme Shelter,” Freddie King’s “Going Down,” and the gospel standard “Amazing Grace.”
Ghost Hounds are led by vocalist SAVNT alongside founder, producer and guitarist Thomas Tull. The lineup also includes guitarist Tyler Chiarelli, fiddler Kristin Weber, keyboardist Joe Munroe, bassist Bennett Miller and drummer Sydney Driver.
“The way Thomas writes, he knows what the guy in his song had for breakfast that morning. He’s really building a character,” SAVNT says.
The band has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and The Kelly Clarkson Show, while also making a headline appearance during AmericanaFest at the National Museum of African American Music, where SAVNT was honored with a special exhibit recognizing his artistry and cultural impact. Ghost Hounds have also toured with The Rolling Stones and opened for ZZ Top, Bob Seger and Garth Brooks. Their song “Last Train to Nowhere” was also featured in the television series Special Ops: Lioness.
Ghost Hounds released their debut album Roses Are Black in 2019, followed by A Little Calamity, You Broke Me, First Last Time and 2025’s Almost Home, which featured guest appearances from Lainey Wilson and Patty Griffin.
“We are so proud of Justified. We were able to draw from so many of our influences and put forth a record that we feel really sounds like a culmination of all the parts becoming the whole,” lead guitarist Tyler Chiarelli says. “At the center of that is SAVNT. His vocals were able to traverse so much ground, and it was so amazing to witness him find new dimensions of his voice in the process. From blues to country to rock, he brought all of the songs to life.”
SAVNT says the band’s approach has never been limited by genre.
“We don’t really care about rules or genres. When we write, record, or perform, the songs could be country, Americana, soul, or blues-rock,” SAVNT says. “It’s all of our influences, mixed together. And there’s nothing better than that.”
