The Sheepdogs celebrate new album with “Bad For Your Health” video
Canadian rockers The Sheepdogs have released the official music video for “Bad for Your Health,” a swaggering new single from their latest album Keep Out Of The Storm. The video arrives as the band unveils the full-length record, now available via their own Right On Records imprint.
“Bad for Your Health” serves as a gritty, riff-driven centerpiece for the album. The newly released video captures the track’s biting commentary on modern excess, taking aim at digital addiction, media overload, and the haze of 21st-century living. Musically, the song leans into a glam-infused stomp reminiscent of T. Rex and Thin Lizzy, with a dash of Queens of the Stone Age-style crunch. The result is both critique and catharsis, pairing sharp observation with a groove built to move.
The album Keep Out Of The Storm marks the band’s first LP since the departure of longtime drummer Sam Corbett. Produced by frontman Ewan Currie and recorded alongside longtime collaborator Thomas D’Arcy, the record features a rotating cast of drummers including Trevor Falls, Adam Hindle, Steve Kiely, Jordan Murphy, and Dani Nash.
“We are all trying to weather the storms in our lives,” Currie said of the record. “Finding shelter, love, hope. We find all of those in rock and roll. Don’t let the title fool you, this record is full of light, love, guitars that rip, and sweet singing that moves you.”
Recorded between tour dates, the album embraces a live-off-the-floor approach. The band jammed songs until they felt fully alive, committing performances to tape in the moment. That immediacy carries through the record’s warm, guitar-forward sound, blending classic rock swagger with flashes of glam and jam-band interplay.
Thematically, the album explores change, belonging, and the search for stability in uncertain times. Despite its stormy title, the collection leans toward optimism, anchored by big riffs and harmony-driven choruses. It also represents the first full-length to prominently feature guitarist Ricky Paquette, whose tones and harmonies add fresh depth to the band’s evolving sound.
The release caps a strong run for The Sheepdogs. In 2025, they completed a sold-out cross-Canada arena tour supporting Bryan Adams, issued companion EPs Paradise Alone and Hell Together, and officially launched Right On Records. Their single “Take Me For A Ride” finished as the No. 16 most-played track of the year at Billboard Mainstream Rock and No. 18 at Mediabase Active Rock, while “Nobody But You” climbed into the Top 10 at Active Rock and reached No. 13 on Billboard Mainstream Rock.
In support of Keep Out Of The Storm, The Sheepdogs will launch an extensive Canadian headline tour beginning March 13, 2026, before heading to Europe for their Out All Night Tour in November and December. The band has built a reputation for bringing their high-energy live show to markets often overlooked on major tours, continuing their commitment to fans across Canada and beyond.
With “Bad for Your Health,” The Sheepdogs deliver a sharp-edged anthem wrapped in a classic rock strut, reinforcing that even in turbulent times, loud guitars and a heavy riff can still cut through the noise.
