Premiere: Dyer Davis – “Baby”

In a Blues Rock Review exclusive premiere, listen to “Baby” by Dyer Davis. It’s from the upcoming album, Kiss The Ring, due out June 13. It follows Davis’ debut album, Dog Bites Back, which debuted #6 on the Billboard Blues chart.

“I feel like this song is very relatable to people that have been in love,” says Davis. “It’s about my wife and I’s first date and how it went before I kissed her basically. All of the stuff going through my head, as well as things that I said. This song takes me right back there every time I play it.”

Kiss The Ring features 12 self-produced tracks blending southern rock and alternative with blues influence.

Davis’ influences are heavily rooted in the 1960s and ’70s.

“I started playing guitar when I was four years old,” Davis recalls. “The British blues movement really stuck with me—especially bands like Cream when they covered Albert King. That led me to go back and discover the originals, and that’s when I really fell in love with the blues.”
