Premiere: Canyon Lights – “Seventh Son”
In a Blues Rock Review exclusive premiere, stream Canyon Lights’ “Seventh Son.” The song is from the trio’s debut album, Breathe Easy, which is due out this summer.
“Get down, let’s go!” sings Pat Faherty on Canyon Lights’ latest single “Seventh Son.” “Seventh Son”—the opening track from Canyon Lights’ forthcoming debut LP “Breathe Easy”—details a romantic encounter with hints of mysticism. The title comes from a centuries old belief that a person born into a lineage of only sons is believed to possess special or supernatural abilities, often related to healing or magic.
Combining Faherty’s simple yet powerful guitar hooks with Carman’s jazz-infused rock n’ roll feel and a Hound Dog Taylor-inspired psychedelic slide solo, “Seventh Son” captures a perfect mix of retro rock and blues from multiple decades of music. It’s old, it’s new, it’s gritty, and it will get stuck in your head.
“Seventh Son” is available digitally on April 23rd, and you can listen to the track below.
