Premiere: “Rocket 88” – Tribute to Matt “Guitar” Murphy
In a Blues Rock Review premiere watch the music video for “Rocket 88,” a tribute to Matt “Guitar” Murphy. The song is featured on True Blues Brother: The Legacy of Matt “Guitar” Murphy, which was released by Nola Blue on June 21st. The double album features 23 tracks and was produced by Bobby Christina.
Christina said, “This video is how I perceive a form of American history growing up. From the cars, dancing, family, friends, sunsets, and of course, the great Matt “Guitar” Murphy and his timeless music. Thanks for the memories MGM.”
The video footage comes from a 1963 festival in Germany. The swing dancing scene was shot at the Knickerbocker Café in Westerly, Rhode Island.
