Eric Steckel releases pair of singles

Guitarist Eric Steckel has released a pair of new singles. Both “Hold Your Fire” and “Barrel of a Gun” were recorded live at Steve Lukather’s Steakhouse Studios. Steckel was joined by Elia Michelletto on drums and JP Cervoni on bass.

“Hold Your Fire” was written in the summer of 2020 and comes from the perspective of a young man living in a large American city. It’s a heavy rocker featuring Steckel’s “blues metal” signature style and a thunderous guitar riff.

“Barrel of a Gun” was written quickly during the final recording sessions at Steakhouse Studios. During an impromptu jam with his rhythm section, Steckel left his guitar in drop C tuning following recording the previous song and it soon turned into the hard grooving “Barrel of a Gun.”
