Premiere: Backtrack Blues Band – “Dixie Grill” live
In a Blues Rock Review exclusive premiere, watch the brand new live music video for Backtrack Blues Band’s “Dixie Grill.” It’s from the band’s upcoming Gulf Coast Records live debut album, A Day by the Bay, available April 14th. The album was recorded live at the Tampa Bay Blues Festival on April 10, 2022.
“When you grow up in the South, you learn from an early age to appreciate good foods. Southern cuisine has its roots in African American flavorings, and for me there’s nothing better than fresh vegetables and slow roasted meats with those special spices. This song was inspired by a visit to the Dixie Grill, in Wilmington, North Carolina, where they’ve been cooking Southern treats for over 100 years,” says Backtrack Blues Band’s Sonny Charles about “Dixie Grill.
“I have been a friend and fan of Sonny Charles for years,” says Gulf Coast Records founder Mike Zito in announcing the signing. “His band has been a staple in the Florida Blues scene for 40 years. This live album is a wonderful culmination of his great band and love for the music.”
