Eric Clapton working on new album
In an interview with the The Real Music Observer, Eric Clapton revealed he’s been working on a new album of original material.
“We record online,” Clapton said in the interview. “I record a part on my phone and then it goes to my pal Simon (Climlie) in France who creates a rhythm track and then he sends it back to me. Then I overdub on that. We record in a house, in his house and my house. Then we send it to L.A. for Nathan (East) to play bass. Then we send it to Sonny Emory in Atlanta to play drums. Then it comes back. Then I do vocals and lead, so we’ve got an album, but there’s also an album coming out that I suppose I ought to promote called 24 Nights and it’s an anniversary box set of this thing I did at the (Royal) Albert Hall.”
Clapton also mentioned the upcoming tribute shows to Jeff Beck on May 22nd and 23rd at the Royal Albert Hall. Clapton said he recorded “Moon River” with Beck, a song they performed together on stage back in 2010. “We did it in the studio last year and it’s beautiful.” Clapton added, “You’ll hear that.”
