Jared James Nichols releases new version of “Threw Me To The Wolves”

Award-winning blues guitarist and songwriter Jared James Nichols has revisited his song “Threw Me To The Wolves” in honor of the song’s two year anniversary. “Threw Me To The Wolves,” originally released March 11, 2020, emerged just as the pandemic lockdown began. “Threw Me To The Wolves (Revisited),” a collection of b-sides, finds Nichols re-exploring and digging deeper into the meaning of the song, which originally ended up on Guitar World’s “10 Best Guitar Solos of 2020.” Nichols enlists alt-country songstress Maggie Rose and guitar icon Joe Bonamassa to collaborate on the project, each bringing their individual artistry to the song and re-inventing it in their own unique ways.

“Revisiting ‘Threw Me to the Wolves’ brings a wave of emotions (good and bad) right back to me,” says Nichols. “I have grown and evolved so much as an artist the past two years, finding myself going deeper and deeper into my music. ‘Threw Me To The Wolves’ has grown as well, and its meaning has become even more profound to me personally. Although we all come from different walks of life, the wolf can signify individual struggles, of which we’ve all had plenty in the last couple years: love, loss, betrayal, revenge…any of it. The incredible interpretations and collaboration with special guests Joe Bonamassa and Maggie Rose is an absolute dream come true.”

“I met Jared James Nichols at the Gibson Garage in Nashville, and we became fast friends,” said Rose. “He is as warm as he is talented and I was so honored to be a small part of such an undeniable rocker like ‘Threw Me To The Wolves.’

In other news, Nichols, recently named a Gibson Brand Ambassador, will hit the road this spring, supporting Zakk Wylde’s Black Label Society and legendary rock guitarist Nita Strauss. A full list of dates is included below, including a just-announced appearance at Aftershock Festival on October 9 at Discovery Park in Sacramento
