Premiere: Micki Free – “Bye 2020”

In a Blues Rock Review exclusive, Micki Free is premiering his new music video for “Bye 2020.”

About the track, Free said, “It was a rough time because of the start of COVID…people dying, everyone scared as hell, so this song is saying ‘Bye’ and good riddance!!!…to that killer year, and NO pun intended! ‘Bye 2020’…cause we don’t need you around anymore!”

“Bye 2020” will be released on November 12. The track is featured on Free’s upcoming album, Turquoise Blue, which is set to be released on February 4, 2022.

Turquoise Blue features 14 tracks and includes guest appearances from Gary Clark Jr., Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Steve Stevens, and Cindy Blackman Santana.

“I wrote Turquoise Blue over the period of time when Covid first broke out and we were advised to remain at home,” Free recalls. “Interacting with my peers was just not an option. The songs are a direct testament of how I felt during that crazy time.
