Album Releases: August 2021

This summer has been filled with strong albums and that continues in the month of August. Don’t miss these August album releases.

Bluhauz

This album was listed as one of Blues Rock Review’s most anticipated albums of 2021. Bluhauz is originally from Argentina and is currently based out of Miami. He’s one of the most exciting new artists in the blues rock scene and this album could help him break out. If you like classic rock with a fresh spin, check it out. Bluhauz is out on August 6th.

Troy Redfern – The Fire Cosmic

Troy Redfern’s The Fire Cosmic will also be released on August 6th. Redfern hails from the UK and if you like slide guitar, you’ll want to check out The Fire Cosmic. Redfern plays with a 1929 National resonator guitar and this album has a big sound. Troy recently appeared on the Blues Rock show, so make sure to check our interview discussing the album.

The Cold Stares – Heavy Shoes

Indiana blues rock duo the Cold Stares are back with Heavy Shoes on August 13th. This is a group that’s drawn comparisons to bands like the Black Keys and the White Stripes. And if you like fuzzed up guitar, this is an album for you. Heavy Shoes features 13 tracks that rock heavy.

Robben Ford – Pure

Guitar virtuoso Robben Ford is set to release Pure on August 27th. It’s his first instrumental album since 1997’s Tiger Walk. The album features nine tracks of blues, rock, and jazz. Ford says he thinks the album is perhaps the most complete representation of his personal musical vision.

Southern Avenue – Be The Love You Want

Grammy nominated Memphis soul group Southern Avenue will release Be The Love You Want on August 27th. The album includes collaborations with Cody Dickinson from the North Mississippi All-Stars and Jason Mraz. Be The Love You Want is produced by Grammy winner Steve Berlin and is the band’s third studio album.

Pete Francis

Pete Francis is the founder and Editor-in-Chief of Blues Rock Review. Pete founded Blues Rock Review in 2010 because he felt there was a major void in how the blues rock genre was covered. Pete is the host of Blues Rock Weekly and a co-host on the Blues Rock Show.

    I feel like the pandemic thwarted their ability to be properly recognized for this astoundingly good collection of songs.
