Exclusive: Stream Sonny Landreth’s “Firebird Blues”
Blues Rock Review presents the exclusive premiere of “Firebird Blues,” which is featured on Sonny Landreth’s new album, Bound By The Blues, due out June 9.
The track is a tribute to Johnny Winter. Sonny used his vintage Gibson Firebird guitar on the track, a model long associated with Winter.
“The news of Johnny’s death came just as we were about to make this album and it hit me really hard. I decided to record a slow instrumental as a tribute by keeping it raw and in the moment like Johnny’s playing always was,” Landreth said.
