King King’s Lindsay Coulson announces departure from band

King King bass player and and founding member Lindsay Coulson has announced he is leaving the band after the group’s upcoming UK tour.

In a press release, Coulson said, “After 10 years of continued success with the band and everything the future now holds for them, I have made the difficult decision to depart from the group to concentrate on family and other personal endeavours.  I wish the rest of the guys continued success and thank everyone involved with the band and all the fans and followers all the very best for the future.  Looking forward to seeing everyone at the UK shows for one last time”

King King frontman Alan Nimmo added, “Obviously Lindsay is family and always will be. I know it’s a decision he has not made lightly, and we wish him all the best.”

A new bass player will be announced at King King’s Glasgow show on February 17.

I was fortunate enough to see King King perform in Frome, England this past summer. They were fantastic and Alan Nimmo is a great frontman, lead singer and guitarist. Lindsay Coulson is a good basic bass player but I’m hoping his replacement will add more texture and dynamics — tone and playing wise. The new keyboardist is excellent.
