Will Wilde releases “Gypsy Woman” music video

British blues artist Will Wilde has released a new video for his song “Gypsy Woman,” taken from his latest album Blues Is Still Alive.

“Gypsy Woman” is the only acoustic track on the album and offers a stripped-back contrast to the record’s otherwise electric blues sound. Built on the same traditional chord progression as “St. James Infirmary,” the song carries a strong 1920s and 1930s blues influence while remaining rooted in Wilde’s personal experiences.

The recording features Bobby Harrison on acoustic guitar, Russell Carr on upright bass, and backing vocals from Dani Wilde. A Wurlitzer piano solo from Greg Coulson follows Wilde’s harmonica performance, creating a measured exchange between harp, voice, and keys.

Wilde has spoken about the song’s origins, explaining that it was written during a period of recovery following a serious motorcycle accident.
“I wrote this song in 2019 lying in a hospital bed after breaking my neck and back in a motorcycle accident,” says Wilde. “The lyrics ask questions about what the future might hold for me.”

The video release arrives alongside major live news. Wilde has announced that he will support Eric Clapton at Sandringham Estate on August 23, marking the largest show of his career to date. The concert will also feature special guests Ronnie Wood and Andy Fairweather Low.

“I’m very excited to announce that I’ll be opening for the legendary Eric Clapton at Sandringham Estate on 23rd August,” says Wilde. “This is going to be the biggest show of my career so far, it’s a real honour to be involved.”

Clapton played a key role in the British blues movement of the 1960s through his work with The Yardbirds and John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers, helping introduce American blues to a wider UK audience. Decades later, Wilde has emerged as one of the leading modern voices in British blues, known for his distinctive harmonica style and contemporary songwriting.
