Laurence Jones pays tribute to Rory Gallagher with “Bad Penny” single

UK based blues rock guitarist Laurence Jones has unveiled a special new single featuring a sample of Rory Gallagher’s “Bad Penny.” The track draws directly from Gallagher’s original studio recording, allowing one of the genre’s most influential voices to resonate in a fresh setting. By weaving his own artistry around Gallagher’s timeless performance, Jones creates a bridge between past and present, reminding listeners just how enduring Gallagher’s music remains.

This release is the first of two unique recordings pairing Jones with the legendary Irish guitarist. In October, Jones will follow up with “Follow Me” – Laurence Jones Featuring Rory Gallagher, another digital release built around Gallagher’s original work. Together, these singles shine a light on Gallagher’s continued influence while giving fans a new way to experience his legacy.

Rory Gallagher, who passed away in 1995, has long been celebrated as one of blues rock’s most passionate and authentic voices.
