Bonamassa makes history with “Time Clocks” named #1 album

Joe Bonamassa made history on Wednesday when his new album Time Clocks was voted Blues Rock Review’s #1 album of 2021 in its annual year end top 20 list. The vote was compiled with 50% coming from the fans and the other 50% from the Blues Rock Review staff.

Bonamassa becomes the first artist in the 11-year history of the list to earn the top spot in back to back years. Last year, Royal Tea was voted #1 in Blues Rock Review’s top 20 albums of 2020. Bonamassa is also the first artist ever to earn the #1 spot three times. Driving Towards The Daylight took home the honor in 2012.

Dan Patlansky is the only other artist to earn the #1 spot multiple times (2014, 2016).

Recently, Bonamassa’s 2020 release, Royal Tea, was nominated for a Grammy award.
