Steve Strongman: Tired of Talkin’ Review

Steve Strongman returns with his 2019 album, Tired of Talkin’. Recording from Nashville and Ontario, the JUNO award winner was accompanied by a group of powerhouse musicians including Pat Sansone on keys, Audley Freed on guitar, James Haggerty on bass, and Dave King on drums. The talent of this group clearly shines through in each of the 12 tracks on the album.

Tired of Talkin’ opens with an exciting title track powered by a steady kick drum and a catchy melody. The song sets the standard for Strongman’s impressive vocals that remain dynamic throughout the album. “Can’t Have It All” matches the energy that the album began with. The fast paced song’s addictive chorus and amusing lyrics show off Strongman’s talents as a songwriter. The song features a number of outstanding guitar solos that are sure to blow listeners away. To contrast these upbeat songs, Strongman includes some beautifully crafted sentimental tracks like “Still Crazy ‘Bout You,” a sweet love song that  still matches the album’s color with its lively keyboard arrangement. The album’s most emotional track has to be “That Kind Of Fight.” Strongman changes things up with an acoustic song that captures the singer-songwriting spirit perfectly.

Tired of Talkin’ is a heartfelt and exciting listen that truly demonstrates Steve Strongman’s musical expertise. With a variety of energetic and passionate songs, this album truly has a song for every blues rock listener.
