Great topic although I think it’s a bit early to say Kris Barras is underrated he’s only just starting out after years doing martial arts in Asia. Seen him last month great guitarist can play a lot of styles, should be labelled as one to watch.
Just recently found Leif de Leeuw, listen to Once and for All (Live) on You Tube, guitar starts at 5 minutes (if you don’t like the female singer), but the whole live album is great.
Another worth a listen is Jay Jesse Johnston.
Hope people keep posting, the Eric Tessmer Band is a great call ,and agree with all Gary Milligan’s selection.
Alan Nimmo was also mentioned, has to be seen live, although I don’t like his move to classic rock ,waste of his talent.
5 episodes of “under-rated guitarists” and you haven’t mentioned Ryan McGarvey yet??? Any un-believers out there need to check into his recently released Live at Swinghouse album….
We’re certainly familiar with Ryan and have featured him in the past. We’ll likely see him in a future video. We’re waiting on a review copy of the new live album!
Thanks for your reply. I knew you guys would be familiar with Mr. McGarvey. I was just hoping he would make one of your most under-rated guitarist features, because I think several folks that tune into BRR may not be familiar with him yet.
