Jake Chisholm: No More Sorrow Review

Jake Chisholm is back with No More Sorrow, the followup to 2013’s Diamond In A Coalmine, which made Blues Rock Review’s Top 20 Albums of 2013. Three years later, Chisholm has another winner on his hands as No More Sorrow is a very worthy successor.

The album kicks off with the title track, which is featured on the Blues Rock Review Album Sampler Volume 7 and Chisholm continues to show his knack for coming up with great riffs here. “I’m On Fire” follows and it’s hard not to bob your head along with this one. The track is a surf style rocker and has some real tasty playing. Other highlights include “Merry-Go-Round,” and “I Want You The Way You Are,” another blues rocker with a cool riff. This is the type of track you could see featured in a commercial or TV show.

Jake Chisholm continues to fly under the radar, but the question with No More Sorrow is, for how long? Chisholm is still a bit under looked but shouldn’t be. No More Sorrow is another gem of an album from one of blues rock’s brightest up and comers.

The Review: 8.5/10
