Billy Walton Band Blog: Leaving New Jersey

It’s been a very trying week in NJ.  All four guys in the band (Billy Walton, Richie Taz, Johnny D’Angelo, William Paris) live in the Garden State and we were all affected.  As we depart for our UK tour, 4 days after Sandy, 3 of us still don’t have power.  It’s very difficult to leave our families and friends in this situation but we feel the support structure is in place.  We have gotten so many messages from our fans all over the world wishing us the best and hoping that we are OK.  We’ve played hundreds of shows up and down the Shore and many of the venues have been hit hard.  We were supposed to fly out of Newark to Dulles, then on to London but Newark has been too inconsistent with flight cancellations so we decided to drive to Dulles.  We were fortunate that 95 cooperated.  The flight was rather uneventful, which allowed us to relax and look forward to the shows…..
