Dave Keller: Where I’m Coming From Review

Where I’m Coming From is the new album from Dave Keller. With the perfect mix of soul in his voice and blues ringing out from his guitar, Keller’s album is truly a gem for lovers of soul music.

“More Than I Can Stand,” the opening track of the album, gives the listener a taste of what’s in store for the rest of the album. This first track captures the essence of 60’s soul music, with the classic sounding horn section and backup vocals, but Keller’s vocals and guitar playing gives it a wonderfully blended mix of the old and new soul sound.

While most of the album is steady with that classic soul sound, songs such as “Steppin’ Out” have a very bluesy vibe that really gives the album that something different. Keller maintains his soulful voice in this song but also shows a gritty and bluesy tone in his guitar playing.

The album features The Revelations as musicians behind Keller, but there is a song, “The Things We Have To Do” that features another singer, Tre Williams, doing a duet with Dave Keller. It is a soul ballad and the vocals on it are absolutely outstanding.

There are a lot of great surprises within this album and is a must have for anyone who loves soul and blues music.
