Tommy Emmanuel: All I Want For Christmas Review

All I Want For Christmas is Tommy Emmanuel’s first Christmas album. Emmanuel collaborated with another great acoustic finger picking guitarist John Knowles. They put together an album filled with everyone’s favorite holiday classics.

There are two original songs on the album. “One Christmas Night” was written by Tommy Emmanuel. It fits right in with the classics and there is no doubt that it could become one. He also arranged an original song by pianist and composer Rick Price called “The Magic of Christmas Time”

Amongst the many well known holiday songs on the album “Santa Clause Is Comin’ To Town” is one of the best. It showcases Emmanuel’s picking skills with an incredible solo in which he also scats the notes being played. He took one of the most upbeat and fun Christmas songs and truly made it his own.

From “Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer” to “Silent Night” Emmanuel plays every song in a unique and beautiful way. Each song is proof to his incredible skill as a picker and as an overall musician.  All I Want For Christmas is a must have album for the upcoming holiday.
