Levee Town: Pages of Paperwork Review

Don’t judge Pages of Paperwork by its cover. The fourth release from Kansas City-based Levee Town is much more cohesive and impressive than the slapped-together album artwork would lead you to believe.

So much more, in fact, that it’s actually somewhat startling. Inside, you’ll find uncompromising but compelling vocals, fiery fretwork, and rock-solid percussion interlaced with well-placed harmonica. Levee Town have devised a balanced formula that works exceptionally well while still allowing them the flexibility they need to create an album with ever diverse yet filled-out tracks.

It seems safe to say that Levee Town is a band with such skill that they can encompass and appeal to a wide array of genres and their fans, including blues, rock, country, and alternative. They certainly ultimately stay true to their blues rock roots, but wide appeal is definitely apparent.

All in all, Levee Town is a group of great musicians, and they should stick to what they do best: making good music.
