Tom Fuller Band: Ask Review

UK Release Date: 9/5/11 (Red Cap)

Ask is the third studio album from the Tom Fuller Band. Hailing from Chicago, Fuller grew up a fan of Paul McCartney and that influence shows on Ask. Abe Laboriel, Jr. and Brian Ray of McCartney’s band even joined Fuller to record the album and the result is a beautiful piece of music.

Ask begins with the catchy “Lovers” and continues with the instantly infectious title track. Both feature uplifting melodies in an album full of many. Ask continues with “Doin’ Nothin,” which features a memorable chorus and keeps the upbeat theme going. The album remains buoyant throughout and closes with the captivating “Garden Dreaming Days.”

Ask in an inspired effort from the Tom Fuller Band. It is a highly digestible rock album easy to identify with. While the album won’t be released until the end of summer, there are few albums that give the feeling of a beautiful summer day like Ask.

The Review: 8/10
