Joe Bonamassa: The Ballad of John Henry Review

The Ballad of John Henry was my introduction to Joe Bonamassa. When I first heard the title track, my thoughts were, “This guy is incredible.” And that’s what this album is, incredible.

The Ballad of John Henry was released in February of 2009 and it is the best overall album in Bonamassa’s impressive catalog. It features great rockers such as the title track, “Last Kiss,” and “Story of a Quarryman,” and great blues for the purists with “Stop!” and “Lonesome Road Blues.”

If you were looking for a starting point to possibly the greatest guitarist on the planet today, this is for you.

The Review: 10/10
